Effect of aerodynamics of high-rise buildings on exhaust ventilation systems work of neighbouring low-rise buildings

National Aviation University, Aerodynamics and Flight Operation Department
Abstract. The paper has presented the findings of the research conducted in the large wind tunnel TAD-2 NAU of the effect of high-rise buildings on the air pressure distribution at the air pit outputs of the neighbouring low-rise residential buildings. The wind-tunnel testing models of micro-residential blocks have been made at the scales from M 1:100 to M 1:150. The presence of high trees has been also simulated. The wind-tunnel tests have been made at 40 wind directions range in value from 0 to 360 degrees. Efficient structural measures for prevention of negative excess air effect have been researched and offered.
Key words: wind tunnel, model, air pressure factor, high-rise building, low-rise building, exhaust ventilation.

Functional and designing arrangement of contemporary shopping and entertaining centres

Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture
Abstract. The present paper deals with the problems of functional and designing arrangement of buildings of contemporary shopping and entertaining centres. It has been pointed out that the improvement of quality and standards of people’s life require quantitative and qualitative progress of shopping and entertaining centres. The fact has provided the basis of carrying out the research in the field of functional and designing arrangement features of such type of buildings. The urgency of the research in the field of functional and designing arrangement of contemporary shopping and entertaining centres has been proved. The a priori information analysis has been conducted. The notion of contemporary shopping and entertaining centre has been given. The given type of buildings has been determined to be at a formation stage. A functional structure model of shopping and entertaining centres has been designed. The principle functional zones of the shopping and entertaining centres have been revealed. The zones arrangement features of shopping and entertaining centre functional model have been considered. Model zones classification of functional structure concerning their functional characteristics and parameters (three groups) has been made. The percentage ratio of functional group areas of a shopping and entertaining centre has been determined. The general parameters of functional structure model zones combination of a shopping and entertaining centre have been noted. The given research and its results are of great importance in the field of architecture and typology of buildings and constructions of the trade and entertainment industry and provide the basis for the further research in the line.
Key words: shopping and entertaining centre, functional and designing arrangement, combination of trade and entertainment functions, functional zones.

Determination of residual stressed state in box section welding elements

a Donbass State Technical University
b OJSC V. Shimanovsky Research and Design Institute of Steel Structures
Abstract. The production processes of steel structures are accompanied with the local heat building-up and initiate residual stressed state. Metal is extended at heating-up and «cold» metal, surrounding heating-up area, prevents temperature deformation of separate areas. The local plastic strains and stressed states have resulted from such effects. The box section elements have ever-widening applications as bearing ones. The use of box-type constructions has been justified because they are of equal stability. The decline of bearing strength of the compressed weld-fabricated I-girders has been experimentally confirmed up to 37 %. Unfavorable effect of residual stressed states differentiates the coefficients of longitudinal bend for analysis of the compressed elements of one type. In the planning standards of steel structures, the design method to stability does not take into account the residual stressed state. Nowadays, there are design methods of I-girders and T-beams subjected to the axial compression with a plane bending of greater or less stiffness. At present, there are no design methods of elements of box-type section of rigid work of material and with residual stressed state. The present paper is devoted to the solution of this problem.

Determination of rational geometry of metalworks of operational equipment of building machines on analysis of their strength properties

Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture
Abstract. The paper deals with the problems of strength properties improvement of metalworks of operational equipment of construction and road-building machines exposed both to the effect of static and dynamic loads destructively impacting on the structures. The author has revealed the peculiarities of designing of box-type metalworks (hollow beams) typical for construction and road-building machines. The analysis of strength properties of metalworks of various geometry with CAD Solid Works Simulation 2010 software having enabled to get stress diagrams and safety factor of the investigated metalworks of various geometry has been made. The simulation has enabled to get a data file of modification of investigated factors from the received loads on the basis of which the ways of improvement of their strength properties have been received. The operational equipment structure with increased strength parameters formed on the basis of analysis and design of hollow beam filling with fibrous concrete has been offered.

Experimental research of fatigue of metalworks elements at cyclic loading

Odessa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture
Abstract. The paper considers the Zhurkov longevity equation as applied to metalworks to forecast of limiting loading cycles. The predicted dependence of quantity, stress symbol8.pngand level of cycles of loading of N has been given in the paper. The frequency of loading cycles has been chosen as 4 cycles per second, and the loading pattern has been determined by an asymmetry coefficient symbol10.png. A diagram of proportion symbol8.pngsymbol9.png for metal and carbon plastics points out that up to the period of transition of metal to the plastic stage there is metal and carbon plastics collaboration. The comparative analysis of the experimental results and calculations of samples of metal elements strengthen with carbon plastics at cyclic loading has been made. The atomic and molecular model of the crack and its development has been recommended to consider on the basis of quantum mechanics where the electrons can be represented in a form of a cloud with changing electronic density. The quantum pattern of the crack corresponds to the contemporary physical foundations of microcosm and open for further detailing.

Wind loads to low-rise building roofing under effect of high-rise building

Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture
Abstract. The paper deals with the study of wind loads to the low-rise building roofing standing near a high-rise building. The investigations have been conducted by physical modeling methods in the wind tunnel with a boundary layer of atmosphere of the Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture. Physical modeling in wind tunnels has great opportunities at investigation both planetary boundary layers, including the topography and underlying surface roughness and local flow near a building object, e.g. in municipal conditions. The conducted experimental investigations point out the necessity of careful designing of new and refurbished high-rise buildings development changing wind loads and increasing pull forces on roofs of surrounding low-rise building. The results of the investigations have confirmed importance of study wave effect arising when wind flows a high-rise building.
Key words: high-rise building, low-rise building, wind tunnel with a boundary layer, wind loads, wave effect in a wind flow.
