Abstract: There are considered some questions of the analysis of a constructive solution and assembly technique of carrying structures of metallic tower cooling stacks. A constructive solution being analyzed, an attention is paid to the design of a cooling stack carrying skeleton and structure. An attention is also paid to the influence of technological and climatic conditions of a cooling stack operation on decision-making as to tower design. Probable methods of assembling tower metal structures and coverings can be an assembly technique with the use of various types of assembly mechanisms (a track-type boom crane outside a cooling stack contour, a tower crane inside a cooling stack contour, a tower crane outside a cooling stack contour, a boom crane, as a tower-boom one, outside a cooling stack contour.A value engineering of the methods accepted has been done, and a rational variant of a structure assembly has been chosen. This rational variant with the boom crane in a tower-boom performance was applied when assembling a tower cooling stack at Avdeevka by-product coke plant.
