Annotation: The article describes the main lines of research related to the use of different methods and approaches to address a variety of urban problems on the organization of transportation and city planning structure. On the basis of application of methods for determining the boundaries of the zone of influence of the city center and the average distance of urban areas, city zoning intensity relations, simulation and factor analysis, which allowed to identify a hierarchical system, as the basic model for the construction of transport-planning structure of the city. Modeling in a hierarchical manner allows us to consider the process of building the model at different levels of abstraction and detail within the framework of fixed notions. Connection is formed between the models, each of which may include lower level model. The theoretical reflections allowed to come to the conclusion on the establishment of an integrated model of transport-planning structure of the city.

Keywords: transport system, planning system, functional relationships, mathematical methods of urban analysis.
