Problems of the Urban Environment of the Historically Developed Transport Hubs in the Center of а Largest City and Ways to Solve them (on the Example of the Donetsk bus Station «Yuzhny» Zone)
Abstract: The factors and prerequisites of natural formation of the transport hub in the center of Donetsk are studied. The belonging of the passenger hub with isolated elements to the spatial type of transport hubs is substantiated. As a result of theoretical analysis, the criteria for harmonization and humanization of territories are determined, including both integral transport hubs and individual passenger facilities at the intersection of pedestrian and transport links. The results of field surveys in the issues of functional zoning and the level of inclusiveness of the urban environment of the studied area are described, the nature of the separation of transport and pedestrian flows, the quality of improvement of the elements of the transport hub and adjacent areas are described. Based on the principles of creating a comfortable urban environment, on the potential of the territory, on the identified problems and the spatial characteristics of the existing transport hub, concepts for solving transport problems are proposed. These concepts represent the macro-, meso- and microlevel of development of the transport hub and the transformation of the urban environment in the zone of its influence.
