Abstract: X-ray phase, chemical and granulometric analysis of ash and slag wastes of the dumps of Zuyevskaya Power Plant was performed. The properties of mineral binders with partial replacement of Portland cement in the amount of 10, 15, 20 % with mineral additive obtained by grinding the slag component of the ash and slag mixture or screening the ash component of the ash and slag mixture were investigated. The authors have found that the partial replacement of Portland cement with ash and slag wastes slows down the kinetics of the compressive strength growth of cement pastes in early age hardening by 6–19 % depending on the amount of mineral additive. The indicators of the compressive strength of cement pastes in the age of 28 days of hardening under normal conditions with the partial replacement of mineral additive based on ground slag increase relative to the control formulation by 2–7 %.
