Annotation: The article outlines the basics of the kinematics of the elastic wheel of a mobile vehicle in stability problems. We consider the kinematics of an elastic wheel, which is equipped with elastic tires and is rigidly mounted on a common axis, with which it rotates freely in traction bearings at a certain angular velocity and rolls along the plane. The rod moves at a given speed in a straight line and its distance from the horizontal plane is constant. Due to the compliance of the wheel tires, the wheel axis rotates relative to the longitudinal axis, coinciding with the direction of the traction axis, and rotates at an angle around the wheel axis, which, in turn, forces the wheel to rotate as a whole around a vertical axis. The relationships obtained from the calculation scheme and the above-described physical process made it possible to obtain functional relationships between the kinematic parameters of a moving elastic wheel, which form the basis of the system of Lagrange or Euler equations for solving problems of motion stability that are important for practice.
